1ST GENERATION

  • Smeal Ergonomic Hose Loader (EHL)
    • Supply hose is loaded from the ground
    • Eliminates climbing up on the apparatus
    • Reduced exposure to slip and fall accidents and workman’s comp. injuries

2ND GENERATION

  • Preconnects on the rear bumper and front bumper
    • 200’ of 2-1/2” preconnected on front bumper
    • Two (2) 200’ 1-3/4” preconnects on rear bumper
    • Eliminates climbing on the apparatus

3rd GENERATION

  • Smeal Omni pump control system
    • Control pump from multiple locations
      • Traditional left side pump panel
      • Right side of cab
      • Turntable on aerials
    • Electronic control with manual backup
    • Monitor flow and pressure on all discharges
  • FRC InView 360 and Guardian Camera System
    • Four (4) cameras, one on each side of the truck provide front, left, right, rear views and simulate an overhead view. Active camera is recorded on digital video recorder
    • Four (4) cameras, one on each side of the truck (front camera on aerials is at tip of aerial) provide views at fire scene recorded on digital video recorder and transmitted via cellular to headquarters.
  • Smeal SG-09 Auxiliary Power Unit
    • 3-cylinder CAT diesel powered 9 kW generator
    • Powers the apparatus 12 volt system and provides heat and air conditioning for cab and provides 120/240 AC power for scene lighting. Shuts down the main diesel engine when the pump or aerial is not being used.
    • Reduces emissions
    • Saves cost for PMs on main engine
